Unsure about quality

We’ve had our son in the same nursery for the last 2 years. He is 2 and half. It’s been great but lately it seems to have gone down hill.

when we pick him up, if he’s been naughty we get a full on story about what he’s done etc.

When he’s been good all we get is “he’s been fine, there’s nothing to go home”. In a tone of voice meaning goodbye.

there’s been a few incidents as of late of picking him up with a snotty nose that looks like it’s not been wiped for hours.

Today we’ve picked him up and they tell me he’s climbed onto a chair, reached up and got hold of the pva glue and got it in his hair. He still had the glue in his hair and they told me he’ll need a bath.

Now what has annoyed me is why haven’t they made an attempt to get it out of his hair before it’s dried. It was also another day of seeing a lot of snot around his nose all dried up.

am I over reacting or expecting too much or am I right to make a complaint about this?

thanks

I wouldn't complain personally, but when it starts feeling off I would always open the channels of communication. Ask for a meeting first for a development update, discuss the fact you feel negative traits of your child are being heavily relayed to you but you're not really getting positives, and ask if it is normal to leave glue in hair without trying to remove it

Gauge from the response your next steps, and also say that as you are getting only negatives no positives is there a noteable issue with child's behaviour as if there you you should probably work together on methods to resolve so things are consistent, and meet to review
