My son is due to do his settle week next week to begin on the seventh August. They screwed up so cannot settle him wb 31/7 as they have no slots for settles

Just got an email last thing Friday saying they h a d and v out real and asking all parents to keep children with d and v off. Five staff have been off and ten children.

Son just turned one and is currently on antibiotics because he broke his hand and had minor surgery. He was also about prem.

If we don't go this week he can't start until fourteenth August and it throws all our plans totally out.

I do have some more annual leave but already asked to use that to leave work in time for nursery pickup.

I get another lot in Oct though

I'd still send him. Sounds like they have rigorous protocol in place to reduce the spread of infection as much as possible.

Would also add, parents shouldn't need telling to keep their sick kids at home but some think it's just them that doesn't need to follow the rules. Nursery are being zero tolerance which is absolutely the right thing to so.

Thank you. I want to send him but feel guilty in case I'm knowingly putting him in harm's way

You should send him. D&V and other illnesses are rife in nurseries and will they will often have it going round. Don’t let it screw your plans up but be prepared for him being ill a lot in the first couple of months

hello, I sent him as the whole nursery had been deep cleaned. He got it anyway and ended up ion a drip for four nights, so I feel very stupid

Was reluctant to send him back although he seems better now and really happy there
