Dirty toys at nursery

My two young boys are in private nursery, they are one and two years old. I'll start off by saying my boys absolutely love it and the girls there are fantastic. Inside the nursery looks nice; well thought out BUT in the baby room the toys are filthy. Visible filth on the toys. Am I being unreasonable to think they should be cleaning the toys the children play with? There weren't many toys out in the other room but they could be equally as gross?

We went for an a family day at the nursery and this is how I've noticed.

Why don't you email the nursery and tell them? Posting here won't change it.

I thought the guidelines were toys for under 12 months should be cleaned every day and got over 12m cleaned at least once a week.
Just have a word?

I would definitely bring it up to the staff that you noticed the toys were dirty and ask if they do regularly clean them. If they get a spray clean every day, then the dirt shouldn’t build up, if not they will get grubby quick,

At our nursery when we go for pick up after 5 the kids are usually away in the sensory room or in the garden while 1 or 2 of the staff are up in the baby room sorting things for the next day - including cleaning all the toys. So yes they should definitely be doing this.

I am aware I need to talk to them and will but just wasn't sure if there were any guidelines for this sort of thing before I email

Unsure on official guidelines but they should definitely have a cleaning policy/schedule. In our nursery we wipe down toys at the end of each day and soft toys/cushions/doll clothes etc are washed every week
