My DD is 2.1 and has just moved into the 2-3 year old room at nursery. This is a much bigger room (about 15 - her previous room had 8 kids in it) which I'm sure will do her good, but the emphasis seems to be much more school based. DD is a very affectionate child and a little bit nervous / clingy, and enjoys hugs and a fair amount of physical affection. I'm a bit concerned that she's not going to get this in the new room as it's so busy, the ratio is lower, and.... well... the culture seems different.

Does that make sense? It's only her first day so I guess I should see how it goes?

see how it goes

have you discussed your concerns with the staff?

at DS's nursery the 2 - 3 room is more "stuctured" but also plenty of cuddles etc

My dd, 2.5, has just moved up and I don't feel she is as settled or cheerful as she has been. she's also very shy and clingy. I have been trying to ask more questions to get a picture of her day - I think I will voice some concerns tomorrow (it's the second week for us).

Tonight she told me 'dd doesn't like nursery. Not for a while. Like my home.' It just breaks my heart - evil mummy!
