Hi All, I have been looking at nurseries in Chingford over the past few weeks for my 10 month DS and have whittled it down to the following, in no particular order:

Bright Horizon - Station Road
Busy Bees - Larkswood Leisure Park
Kids Inc - Hatch
Bluebells Day Nursery - Hall Lane
Footsteps - Station Road

Would be great to get some feedback, reviews, experiences etc on any of these please. Feel free to suggest others if you think it's helpful.

Many thanks x

Hi I am not from that area at all so can’t comment on the specific nurseries but it really helped us to visit the nurseries in our area and we really got a great ‘feel’ in one of them.

we didn’t even really know what we were looking for until we saw it, and it’s just perfect for us.
i keep meeting different mums who will be using different nurseries and and have different good things to say about them.
we had settled on a big purpose built nursery as it was the cheapest by far, including nappies all meals etc, on site chef who caters to allergies, extra activities ie rugby tots etc
very large lots of space. Never really got a feel but it seemed good enough.
but we then looked around more and fell in love with a small family run nursery, fruit in the garden, music and yoga, just a small warm nurturing atmosphere and we decided that’s what was right for us.
nothing wrong with either nursery but we went with our gut of what felt best for our baby for the next 4 years!

so my best advice is to visit them all and see what you get the best feel for.

Thanks @Bree82 I have no idea what to look for but your suggestions are really helpful. I'll book some visits and hope I get that feeling! x

You will probably get a better response by posting on local Facebook groups to Chingford. Check out their ofsted reports too and view them, ask about their staff turnover and parent partnerships etc.

@GreenLeopard1 thank you! I've been to visit them all now and I haven't really had that 'the one' feeling from any but I'll definitely try Facebook next.

You may have made your mind up, but Footsteps has the best reputation locally, with Bright Horizons having a dodgy rep due to high numbers of staff leaving/ turnover.

If you are looking for the best in the area, I would have to say Tiny Tots day Nursery on Higham Station Avenue is the top choice. Not only have they been there 25 years but they have had the same owner since the day they opened and also most of the staff members have been there from the beginning. Having been a child at that nursery myself where Anna, Sam and Emma looked after me, I then returned recently to take my child to this nursery where the same key people in my childhood then cared for my child. They really do provide the best care, and are part of the family x

How funny - I would consider that Highams Park? Not chingford.
