With Nursery (including nursery class within a primary school) you just apply directly. There isn't an universal application.

PuttingDownRoots · 21/03/2023 10:03

Nursery application varies per area (it is done through council for school nurseries here for example!!)

If you specify the area someone may be able to help

Nursery isn't compulsory, so there isn't a deadline to apply. Contact the local nurseries and book an appointment to have a look around.

School nursery - apply to the school, most in my area that aren't full take on all year

Private nursery - again apply straight to them, take on all year

Have you got your childcare code?

Thank you everyone for your help. Really means a lot.
It's for Redbridge Area that I'm looking for.

You need to visit the nurseries you are interested in and make a an application to them directly. We can't do that for you here which you seem to be implying.

The nursery system is very confusing and varies from place to place, because there are private nurseries, nursery classes in schools, charity and community run nurseries and probably loads of other types as well.
If you type your postcode in here https://www.daynurseries.co.uk/ you will find the nurseries near you. Then you can click through to the web site and find out how to apply.

Find an Ofsted inspection report

Sorry, I deleted the Ofsted link because I thought Daynurseries was easier to use but it is still there for some reason. You can search on Ofsted as well with your postcode but you don't get links to the settings.

If you mean one attached to a school for September it is possible you have missed the deadline. They may not be oversubscribed though, even so. For private preschools accepting EYFS funding you have to ring around then visit. LA should show contact details on its website under Early Years.
