Dulwich Prep Nursery Recommendations

I am absolutely new to the area and looking for prep nursery recommendations in the North Dulwich/East Dulwich/Dulwich village/Lordship lane area.
I am looking for nurseries that feed into Alleyns/DC for my boy who is 2 now. I just can’t seem to get my head around the options using google. Currently where I live, the prep nursery’s website gives info on schools they feed into and exact year on year numbers. But in south London I am unable to see this being displayed. Hence I am out here looking for some info from you mums . Thank you all so much.

Just to be clear, I will be looking to make him sit the 3/4+ assessments for the mainstream schools

Theres no nurseries that feed into Alleyns. All kids have to do the same assessment. If you wanted somewhere that’s going to prep them for the assessment then Dulwich prep London, DUCKS or maybe Herne Hill School.

Many boys who go to those schools go to DUCKS, DPL or Herne Hill.

The difficulty you might have is that those nurseries have pretty long waiting lists, so they might not be there long enough to "prep".

There is a definite limit to how much prep you can do for 4+ regardless, and the schools also have lots of kids who went to non prep nurseries, Montessori's etc.

Thank you.

Thank you. I think you are right about prep nurseries being over-subcribed but we managed to check DPL and Herne Hill. Herne Hill nursery has expanded this year to take in about 80 kids, so that makes me think about the quality of prep. And DPL nursery starts at 3 years and usually the assessments happen when kids are 3.5 years. That gives him only the autumn term to settle and learn at DPL.

I understand. I have just gone through the 4+ process with my older child who will be joining reception at JAGS this autumn. I am only looking for a nursery that has a good curriculum in place and its systematically followed , feedback for improvement etc and most kids end up in good schools at reception level.
