Bottle refuser

My breastfed seven month old daughter has started nursery today as I have to return to work. Up til last week she would always accept the odd bottle whether formula or expressed BM. Now she is completely refusing. I thought it might change if it was the only option but she hasn’t accepted milk all day, even though I expressed some for her. She has had a little bit of solid food and water. Any suggestions how to get her to accept a bottle?

It can take a few days. The more the bottle is offered the more she may take it, so if possible do smaller bottles.

I had this in a nanny job, the baby would wait for mum to come home so he could have breast. It took a few days for him to take more than a few sips of a bottle from me. He is now a teenager.

Thank you that is very helpful. I will try offering lots of smaller bottles

How is she doing now - any joy in having her take bottles from other people?

If still a struggle, I have found that some babies like formula milk much hotter than you may imagine and some want it cold. So experimenting with temperature may be needed.

worked at a nursery where the one child would eat a bit of baby food and NO milk all day but would latch and drink like no tommrow when mom came. She eventually adapted with a little help (aka teacher fed child right up against her chest)
