Not another Nursery bug!?!?

Hi everyone :)

Hoping there are other Mums out there experiencing the same thing as me who may be able to relate!! My daughter is 16 months old and she started nursery at 9 months. Since she started, she has picked up every single bug possible! It's gotten worse since we changed nurseries back in October. I've really looked at it and she's been unwell literally once a month, sometimes more!! Mainly Vomitting and Diarrhea!! It seems to be relentless at the moment! And in-between that, she's had hand, foot & mouth and ear infections etc... I just feel like she's sick more than she's well at the moment and it's just awful! Every time she picks up a bug, I also end up catching it and my sickness record has been terrible at work :(

It's so hard watching her feeling unwell and there be nothing I can do for her :( it's just a worry because she's not old enough to describe to me what's wrong :(

I feel like there's no break from these horrible bugs that just stop us in our tracks for sometimes well over a week at a time!!

Are there any other Mums out there with little ones who have experienced this? Just needed to get this off my chest as I've got no friends who have babies who I can chat to about this!

Thank you :) xxx

Yup, been there! I'm currently nannying for a 2 year old and neither of us have been well since October!! It absolutely sucks.

Happened at least for the first year with my kids. I feel like it made them stronger though because they are 4 and 6 now and hardly ever sick. Sambucol helped with the cold/flu type ones. D&V you cant stop really in early childhood settings.

Par the course I'm afraid, at least when she gets to school age the immune system will be fairly robust!

Aww thank you for your replies! :) It's so hard isn't it. But knowing that it's a normal part of early childhood, is reassuring!! My poor baby is teething at the same time, so she's really going through it at the minute!

I hope you all have a really lovely weekend :) xxx

Going through the same thing now 😓 it's really getting to me. My little boy started mid January and has been ill ever since. It's miserable isn't it. It doesn't help that I've got terrible health anxiety and always worried it's something else other than a cold etc.. it's so hard. I'm tempted to quit work atm with how it's been 😭

My LO is currently sick with his umpteenth virus. He been in nursery for around 3 months and since June, he's had tonsilitis, a nasty ear infection, a bad cold, he gave us all norovirus (although he was only sick once with that-we on the other hand were out for days), and now he has a cold with conjunctivitis. HELP! If you still on here OP, also looking for someone to talk to through all this. I also have terrible health anxiety. The joy ha!
