Hello. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with early days nursery, Palmerston Place? I’m hoping to start my daughter there when she is 8 months old and am looking for any reviews (good or bad) from parents who also have children there. Thanks in advance 😊

No, but also live in Edinburgh so bumping for you. We are hoping for Claremont, which is near our flat, Meadows, which is near my work or Grange which is also pretty near my work.

Hello, yes I do.

My little one has been there for 2.5 years now. Started in the “Tweenies” room at 19 months and then moved to “toddlers” at 2, and “pre-school” at 3. So I don’t have experience of the baby room, but I honestly couldn’t recommend this nursery enough.

The pre school at old Coates house is particularly special. The huge garden means lots of outdoor play and freedom for the kids. They do swimming, Forrest school, yoga and Spanish lessons. The food is healthy and most importantly the staff are absolutely fantastic- especially in the toddler / pre school rooms (probably the other rooms too but I have limited knowledge because it was covid at the time so I had minimal interaction with them). The staff are all bright and fun and make a real effort to understand and bond with your children and you will get to know them well too.

The updates on learning journals are thorough and detailed.

My child was speech delayed and has come on leaps and bounds. We’ve made lots of pals too.

My only criticisms would be: a stricter than most policy on sickness - usually sent home with a cough or a cold. This can be tough if you have two working parents. And secondly, the parking situation isn’t ideal. You need to park on doubles outside, but the traffic wardens are pretty good about it. I’ve never had a ticket in 2.5 years.

Having tried another nursery before and worked in multiple as an agency worker when I was younger - I think this is as good as they get!
