Should I move to a childminder?

Looking for reassurance more than anything, I suppose!
We started our 9mo DS at nursery in July. He had a bit of a hard time settling in/constantly ill (which I expected, though combined with cutting four teeth at the same time, it was a bit of a hairy few weeks…).
Anyway, we recently moved house and I’ve found a childminder just upstairs from us. We checked her out and she seems great / really gels with what we want in terms of outdoor time / practical learning etc. She’s also much closer (of course) and quite a bit cheaper than our current nursery.
We took the decision to move DS and we’re just waiting for the start date at the end of Sept.
The thing is…it seems like he’s started to settle quite well at the nursery now (no tears at drop off / sleeping better / eating well.
Are we doing the right thing in moving him / will this be really disruptive?
Any thoughts or similar experiences appreciated!

He will settle with the CM just like he did with the nursery..I know it's upsetting for you but settling is about him learning /knowing that you always come back. So it's not like the first time you left him, hopefully he'll settle quicker...He won't remember this OP..You have to think long term on this one I think...Good luck..

He's so young he will adapt.

I don't know if I'm being a funny bugger but with it just being upstairs from you, as he gets older he'll know your just downstairs. Would that make things harder? Would he ask for you more?

Thanks @Marylou62 , that’s reassuring!

@SunshineClouds1, oh, I never thought about it like that! The being so close, I mean… I hope that by the time he can kind of conceptualise that, he’ll be having too much fun to care but I suppose we’ll just have to see how he gets on!
