Moving nurseries - advice?

Hello,

Our baby is due in 2 weeks, and we have found the most amazing nursery (so good that it is in fact booked until October 2023!)

I am due to go back to work next April, and am toying with the idea of putting her into nursery somewhere else for 6 months, but booking a space in our preferred one for October and moving her.

As a first time parent, I have no idea if this is a ‘done thing’ or would be detrimental to her in any way, and would appreciate any advice!

Thanks 😊

6 months is a very long time at that age, it won’t be like changing soon after starting to her and I’m guessing the timing might coincide with the inevitable change from the baby room to the young toddler/walking room anyway. So I wouldn’t worry! It could be worth looking into childminders for the first 6 months too- sometimes young babies do better in a homely setting and it’ll be a smaller germ pool as they do get ill all the time when they start nursery!
