All you lovely Nursery Owners/workers.....A Christmas Question

So, I went to DDs Nursery for their Christmas Party this week. It was lovely and I met lots of the other Mums and chatted a bit more to the Staff.

I had bought a big box of chocs that I was going to give to the Manager for the Staff room but DD was handed a lovely gift from her Key worker and now I am feeling maybe I should get her something as well.

I kept the chocs in my bag so I could come on here and ask your thoughts, I did not want her to feel that I had forgotten her as she is fantastic!

So my Plan is to take the Chocs and something for her, but what is appropriate? She is in Training so quite young, very keen to stay at the same place when qualified and as I said DD thinks she is the Bees Knees! Would a voucher for the local Beauty Salon be OK? or just some goodies?

Can you tell I am new to this Nursery thing? I am so pleased with them there that I want to show them I appreciate them in some way (especially as DD has to go on Christmas Eve )

a voucher sounds very nice

MightyMoosh · 20/12/2007 21:47

Yes I would have liked that, or maybe a book token if you say its for a textbook for your course? Not alchohol, if shes in training she may be 16-17 and while she'd like it dont think her parents would thank you!

I'd have appreciated vouchers too - depending what she's into then maybe for a treatment at beauty salon, HMV, clothes shop?

Vouchers for manicures at the local beauty salon have been very well received at our nursery this year.

And include a letter (or rather copy of) to the manager, praising her up and saying how fab she is- I did this for a student teacher last year (bearing in mind only treacher ds1 liked) and she ended up being hired for her NQ year!

Oh a manicure voucher - great idea! She is a bit Goth so a facial may not be her thing! But her nails are lovely all the time. I have already written to the Manager with a Christmas card telling her how good they all are. I dreaded sending DD to Nurdery but I am so glad I did. It is never perfect but they respond to any request/query immediately.

I bought the 2 ladies who work in DDs nursery room a picture frame and candle in a glass and the nursery some handwash and moisturiser for their staff toilet.
