My son is sick AGAIN!!!

My son started nursery in August and has pretty much had a cough ever since!

Middle of November he had an upper respiratory infection and an ear infection, then followed another ear infection then was a really nasty chest infection which we ended up in a&e for! He had a couple of weeks off nursery to get back to 100%.

Sent him back into nursery this week, he only does two mornings. And now he's got a runny nose and a cough again!

I know they get sick a lot when starting nursery but the poor kid needs a break! It's never ending for him!!

Anyone else's kid sick every other week when starting nursery?!

The tempretures are caused by the body fighting infection. When you work hard you get hot the cells are working hard hence the temperature

Yeh very normal, it’s a killer 🙈 but it does get better I promise! Each winter was an improvement & now my eldest has just started school, she’s rarely ill to be honest. The odd sick bug or virus but SO much better! All thanks to nursery I suppose!

Yep same here! It was relentless but then got better slowly (and it was slowly) from 6 months and then just after a year of starting brilliant. Only to turn to shit again since the pandemic and not enough germs being spread! Getting much better again now! It feels relentless at the time but it will get better and will feel like a distant nightmare! Xx

Yes it goes on and on. Now my older two are at primary age it has calmed down. Especially for the older one who was my sickliest child of all. - I think had 6 admissions in the childrens ward in his first three years. Luckily I was on mat leave with my second when most of that was going on.
I recommend getting the chickenpox vaccine. The cost of the vaccine is cheaper than two weeks off. That’s one less bug to worry about.

Very normal process, unfortunately: particularly now, when most little ones haven’t been mixing much for the past couple of years.

Just try tomtell yourself it’s building up the immune system,

2 year old had covid, cold and a tummy bug so far this year.... it's only February.
It's been relentless.
