30 hours query

Hi

I’ve asked nursery but wondered if anybody could answer before they get back to me!

We’ve just confirmed our tax free childcare and have automatically got a code for being eligible for the 30 hours funding. Apart from DD isn’t 3 until later in the year and I thought you weren’t eligible until the term after the child turns 3

As it stands, we have to reconfirm our eligibility for the hours before DD Has her 3rd birthday

Reckon it’s just a “wait and leave it” type of thing but it has confused me a little… I’m on little sleep!

Thanks if anybody has had similar experiences and can share

You can get a code but you won’t actually be able to use it till the term after she is three
The code won’t be accepted

If you already have an account, the code is just magically in there. With older one, I had to actually apply and wait for a code, but now the code is just assigned pre-emptively. Nothing you need to do now. I would just send it to nursery maybe about 2 months before she is eligible. They'll need it for their own paperwork and there will probably be some they give you to complete too.

@mindutopia
You do have to verify your code every 3 months if you dont you go into a grace period after which you get billed for 15 hours.
