Tax free childcare question?

If my child's nursery fees are due on the 1st of each month do I set the payment up to leave my account on the 1st of each month or do I need to set it a couple of days before?

I always keep a month in advance in the account so I don't mean how long the bonus takes to clear, literally just how long does it take to get to the nurseries bank account?

It's always taken 3-5 days in my experience. So I get the money into the tax free childcare account a good 7-10 days before the invoice is due, to allow the government not to then be added and then the payment to be made.

I hate the process and am regularly late paying my childminder. It is worth enough money to keep going though!

My pay day is 15th so money goes into TFC account on 16th and then I’ve set up an automatic payment to nursery as I’m charged the same each month, from TFC account on 28th of each money so the funds have cleared by 1st. Never had any issues with it.

I find it only takes around 24 hours to go from my TFC account to the nursery.

Sorry OP, I'm just placemarking on your thread because I've got to start a TFC fund in July and haven't a scooby how it works.

I am a childminder and always seem to receive the money from tfc 3 to 5 working days after parents request it from tfc.

Just remember weekend and BH aren't working days so payments won't be processed. If bank holiday is Monday 1st then you need to pay by the Friday 29th.
