Wondering if anyone can help. Basically nursery are only offering 15 h funding but I am eligible for 30. So I want to split week with 2 days at childminder and 3 days at nursery. Can I max out the days the hours with the childminder (say 9 hours of funding for those 2 days??). And can I use the spare hours not used by nursery for paying childminder for half term holidays? I am happy to top up childminder fees so she doesn't lose out.

You can split the funding however you wish but you cannot 'bank' hours to use more some weeks then others. Funding is term time only so you can either use them all during term time and pay in the holidays or you can use the same each week to stretch your term time hours to cover the holidays also (22 hours). You can't use different amounts each week.

My Local authority says both providers must offer the same either term time only or stretched. Find a cm and ask her to check for you. The setting can claim up to 10 hours a day, but they may choose to only offer funded hours between certain times.

Useful thanks. I checked with childminder and she's happy to offer more hours if I pay a top up. So that works for both of us.
