Help - tax free child care account

Hi, to anyone who pays through tax free child care account please help!

It is first time I’ve tried to use it this month I transferred the money using the sc and acc no and put the ref no where my bank asked for name.

The money didn’t appear in my tax free account but came back into my current account about 12 hours later (thankfully!)

I’ve double checked the details and I used the right ones - anyone else had this?

I’m twitchy about transferring the money again as can’t afford to loose it!! But also don’t want to miss out on the tax back - any advice welcome!

Bank holiday and now weekend are meaning I can’t phone up about it!

Nursery know I’m having difficulty so not too worried about that side of it!

Can't help as I just put money in via my debit card. Appears later that day in account.

This happened to me the first time I used it but it was because I'd forgotten to put the Reference in.

@popcorndiva I might try and use my debit card then I didn’t initially as said it takes longer for money to appear but probably worth a go at this stage!

@HoHumAlex where do you put the reference number? I put it where my bank asked for account name - is that what you do?

No, in the Name bit I put "Tax Free Childcare" and I put the Reference in the section that said "reference" :)

@HoHumAlex I’ve just given it another go and there was a reference box I missed it first time round - it’s not like I don’t normally use internet banking! I’m blaming the distraction of 3 year old!!
