Nursery closed

Is anyone else's child's nursery closed? Even though the announcement says they could stay open our nursery has only remained open for key workers children. The thing is my son is an only one at the moment (he's 3.5). All my friends' kids are still going to nursery and have siblings. I just feel it's so unfair. He really suffered last big lockdown and desperately misses nursery and his friends already. Is this a common thing where they are closing anyway? The nursery is within a school.

I think generally the ones attached to schools are closed. Mine is a private one and is open.

I think the vast majority of nurseries that are attached to schools, or the pre-school type settings which are only open school hours and term time, will close even though they don’t have to, in keeping with the schools. I think many more of the full time, year round private nurseries which are totally separate to any school setting will stay open.

Can you move him to a private nursery?

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 06/01/2021 11:39

The private one here is closed.

I'm in support of them closing, their staff don't have magical protection to Covid.

I'm sorry your DS is missing his friends, genuinely, but keeping their staff safe is surely more important!
