That's lovely.

I was having traumas last night at the thought of having to put DS into a nursery, that's made me feel a lot better.

That's so lovely feeling quite tearful! Must be scary pregnancy hormones

Milliec that's lovely thank you for posting!

Settling new children in is always dificult & your manager seems to have just hit it right with that child. It's a scary time for parent AND child & lots of hugs & distraction is JUST the way to do it IMHO!

We're big on hugs & cuddles in our nursery!

when you find a good nursery with people like your manager its worth sticking with it! I was a nursery manager and its all too easy to get bogged down with the running of a nursery! Sometimes we need the children as much as they need us!

That's brilliant - I love to hear stories of good nurseries.

HunkOLantern · 28/10/2007 19:26

Aw, Millie, that's SO lovely - what a brilliant lady!

Bluestocking · 28/10/2007 19:28

How sweet. I love DS's nursery - the staff are (almost all) so kind and caring. The manager is a real darling, she ran the baby room when DS first started there and he loves being told about how she used to give him lots of kisses and cuddles when he was a baby. Last year there was one little boy in the oldest group who couldn't last the afternoon without a snooze, and so every day he'd be snoring his head off in the armchair in her office! She said she'd really miss him when he went off to school ...

Yes, Nursery staff can be nice! Reading the nurseries topic however, you may believe otherwise.
Lovely to read a positive story, thats how it should be done.
