Hi

Just looking for advice. Currently pregnant and exploring local nurseries for next June. How many would nurseries would you recommend being on the waiting list for? 1, 2 more? I live in Cambridge and am keen yo ensure I get a place when I need it next year.

I would go for 2. 1 you really want and 1 as a back up. You will probably have to pay a non-refundable deposit for each though. Ours was £100 I think and has over a 12 month wait list. I put him down when i was still pregnant. It depends how oversubscribed your area is for childcare.

If you've never looked around I would have a look at a few settings....nursery and childminder as they are both regulated by the same body Ofsted and work to the same standards Eyfs, then pick what feels right and go by what their demand is as the setting can give you an idea of how likely you are to get a place.
