Chiswick Nursery still taking fees after shut down

My nursery in Chiswick initially sent a message that after the government closure they would freeze the remaining payments for the end of the month.

Now they changed their minds and said we have lost that payment. That is £616 for me with 2 kids.

The parents are going to have a zoom chat to see what can be done, but what options are there?

So have you already made the payment? What does the contract say? I wouldn’t have thought they would have a leg to stand on if they had sent out a written message saying they weren’t charging

I think you need more information freezing payments isnt the same as refunding.
Although nurseries are getting 80% of wages paid....how it's happening is unclear are they paying then reclaiming or is everyone waiting for government to put payments in motion....they may have to pay out so will need something to cover the lapse time.
They also still have to pay rent and insurance and other fixed overheads from something. The next funding payment wont come in for a couple of weeks. And was never enough to pay for everything as the rate was too low.
At the end of the day do you want a nursery to go back to? Are you still getting full pay?
