What to pack in LO bag?

Hello,

My little one will be starting nursery soon (he will be 2), what essentials do I pack in his bag?
I'm assuming I won't need as much stuff as I usually take in his baby bag, he is still in nappies, just a bit clueless is all 🤔

Thank you 😁

I think it will depend on what the nursery provide. Mine covers all nappies, wipes etc.
Cup/water bottle.
Spare clothes.
Outdoor shoes/wellies.
Get everything labelled clearly using stickers.

In DS bag we have spare clothes x2 (top, trousers, vest), socks x1, hat & gloves and his dummy. He also has a pair of wellies which stay at nursery. I have a separate coat for nursery so I don't care what state it gets in as they are outside every day. We also provide nappies and wipes as and when needed.

I'd ask your nursery what they need you to send in as they normally have a list of what they like you to send.

Don’t send them to nursery in decent clothes - they get messy and dirty !

When just starting at 2 it was nappies, wipes, nappy bags, spare clothes, and teddy. He keeps wellies and slippers on site.

Now he's 3 it's just a spare set of clothes. In summer, sun cream and a hat.

coffeeforone · 02/03/2020 20:10

We pack spare clothes, gloves and a hat. Sun hat in summer! The nursery provides the rest. Oh And a dummy if he needs one.

simonisnotme · 03/03/2020 20:07

make sure everything has their name on its hard to keep track of whose coat/jumper /wellies are whose

Tumbleweed101 · 07/03/2020 17:52

Comforters, nappies and wipes if required, couple changes of clothes to allow for accidents/messy play, coats and wellies in winter. Anything that is appropriate for the weather conditions as children will be going outside every session and to allow for getting wet or grubby!

Check you can take 2 bags
At my nursery, we don’t have room for 2 bags, so each child has a drawer in the changing room for nappies and wipes and parents bring in a bag with a change of clothes

Fandabydosey · 09/03/2020 05:18

Name everything at least 2 changes of clothes if not more. No medicine or food. Clothes that you don't mind getting wet, dirty, stained etc. Check if you need to provide nappies etc.
