HELP-Committe question

Hi everyone, newby here!

I need some help from those in the know. How should a committee-run preschool be formed? ie, who should be on the committee? Should parents be on the committee? if so, how many? Do all committee members need to be informed or vote on disciplinary procedures?

I've tried to find all this info from Ofsted, charity commission, etc but I must be looking in the wrong place.

Thanks in advance!

It would depend on the constitution of the individual pre-school.

Get in touch with your local authority Early Years Department, they will have staff who can support playgroups / stay and plays / preschools

or

Pre-School Learning Alliance

With regards to disciplinary decisions I would have though that only key committee members and managerial staff would be involved. These matters are not generally open for discussion to the whole committee. Or that is how I have known things to work. In my experience committee run preschools are poorly supported by parents, therefore anyone who has an interest in the community can stand. Eg school teacher, person of the church, staff of the preschool.
