Best pattern for P/T nursery

Hello,

DD will be almost one when she starts nursery two days per week. Originally I was due to be working Monday and Tuesday but have been asked to consider Monday and Thursday instead as preferable from operational point of view. DD is a happy, easy going baby. Would two days in nursery together be best for her routine or does it not make much difference? I'd like to accommodate the request if possible as they've been great at letting me reduce hours.

TIA.

I would say Monday Thursday would be better.

She may not have her normal nap routine at nursery so can catch up on sleep, you can catch up on washing (!) and she never has so many day’s in a row without nursery that she ‘forgets’ it!

I think 2 noon consecutive days are better, it's what I did and it worked really well for DD. It meant that she got some recovery time in between very full on days. It also makes it more likely that if you have to miss work to keep them home due to the child's illness, they will be well enough to go back in for their next day, meaning you miss less work.

I used to do Mondays and Tuesdays but I regretted the Mondays as I had to pay for them whether they were a bank holiday or not.

I'd say 2 non consecutive days too. Mine used to do Mon, thur and Fri (which nursery loved as Mon and Fri were less in demand days) and they always seemed more tired after the second day on the run...

Thanks all 😀

My DD does Monday Tuesday and it's never been a problem, I think once they get into a routine they are happy enough x

It won’t make any difference after a while as it will just be normal for her
Babies are great at adapting
