Oh +++ARSE+++ (sorry but that is the least offensive word I can possibly put in the thread title)

So - I was about to change nursery - or rather DD was. Smaller, nicer, CHEAPER nursery, where the staff seem to interact more with the children, where I am more confident that they would not give my (then) 9 month old child juice rather than water, close to work, lovely staff, lovely manager....

And I would have had a 2 week break between nurseries and so saved some money

The new nursery have just called and told me that they are closing at the end of August.

I have already handed in notice at the old nursery

Oh Arse

(what I mean to say is fuckitybolloxyfuckshitfuck)

I called the (not to be) new nursery this morning and they said that they don't know where the existing children will be going, as it is still early days

Rang round all other nurseries in the area and waiting lists of 1 year at most.

I am going to see old nursery later this afternoon and see if they can take her back

WIth instruction not to feed her juice.

Please cross your fingers for me

What is going to be done with the building the new nursery is in? Might another nursery be opening there? [very hopeful emoticon]

Worth investigating nanny shares if all cms & other nurseries are full?

NormaStanleyFletcher · 07/08/2007 15:50

Thank you all

Another nursery might open - but not soon enough for me.

I wish I could afford to buy it (though a bit of experience in running nurseries might be needed, or a very good manager to run it)

My project at work has just been canned too

It doesn't have to come in threes does it?

Or does finding out my dad has cancer count as the third

Oh God, yes it does Norma.

Sorry about your dad - how is he?

TnOgu · 07/08/2007 15:51

Fletch -

My dad seems fine - his is prostate as well. We are waiting for results from various tests (CAT scans and stuff) to see whether he is a sergical or medical case, at which point we get him referred to the correct consultant at the correct hospital.

He had a hilarious time at the hospital last time - they told him to drink lots to flush the dye or whatever through his system. When he asked where the water was they sent him on a convaluted route through the hospital to get water from another department. I think he enjoyed writing his complaint

Hoping for the best for you...at least you now know what you don't want in a nursery!

NormaStanleyFletcher · 07/08/2007 17:43

I have spoken to a friend who's friend's little girl went to the nursery before. SHe said that her friend is rather particular, so I am hoping for good things

Hooooorayyyyyy

I have been to see new nursery. It seems really nice, lots of interaction between staff and kids, nice staff. £25 per day. Nice atmosphere.

I just have to fill in the form and get a deposit of £70 to them tomorrow and she can start in september
