Always check the T&Cs in terms of deposits, extras, late fees, and length of notice to quit. Ask for a copy, and ask about any points that are not clear.

One nursery (which I decided not to go with) required 3months notice!

*Well hopefully they haven’t had anything major that required emergency interventions.
For minor I want to see if stuff like head bumps, falls etc happen and how often, and what did they do to improve.

Are those unusual enquiries from parents?*
Er, yes Grin You want to know how many minor headbumps they have?Would you expect the person showing you round to go and check their accident records?

I’m just back from the visit, I asked if they’ve had/what’s the procedure, she said any marks they notice (acquired in or out of nursery) are documented and discussed with parents. Big bumps, parent is contacted ASAP on their mobile.

She wasn’t flustered about it, explained that when they start to crawl and toddle collisions with other children and toys do happen.

I think I’ll visit one or two more even though they are too far, just so that I get a better idea how they stack up.
