Can I send my toddler to nursery with croup??

It's mild, he is ok in himself just struggling when napping and evenings...

I wouldn't want him to go if I thought he wasn't well enough but generally seems happy- running all around a & e tonight 😂

Only your nursery can answer that. They are entirely responsible for managing their illness and infection control procedures.

IMHO I’d rather hope they would exclude. Croup is an influenza-like virus that is easily passed through coughing and/or droplets on shared toys, etc. It would spread all too readily in a nursery environment. It is best treated at home, and I think any little one suffering from croup would quite definitely want a parent around.

I would say no when my DS got it and we were released from hospital after two days he would be fine one minute and then just fall asleep the next it takes a lot out of them and it can come back very quickly I would keep him home and keep an eye on him personally.

That's before the nursery might have their own policy on it what have they said?

Hi I kept him home! He wasn't himself at all this morning and spent the day in and out of sleep poor thing

Please don’t send porky children to nursery
They need 1-1 care at home
It’s impossible to do that at nursery without compromising the care for the rest of the children
Hope he feels better soon
