Should I change my DD’s nursery?

Netmums I need your advice! My DD is 17 months old and has been going to nursery 1.5 days a week since 10 months. We looked at a nursery in walking distance of our house but I didn’t warm to it, so we chose a different nursery on my husband’s route to work.

Hubby has just got a new job near our house, and I don’t know whether to switch DD’s nursery. She is happy and settled where she is, but it’s a 20 minute drive each way to drop off/pick up now my husband isn’t commuting. I’m worried about the disruption affecting her and her not getting the same quality experience elsewhere. That being said, we know she is an outgoing personality, which we didn’t when we looked around the local nursery, and a couple of babies she knows from playgroup go there. Also I’m very aware that when she goes to school in a few years time, the local nursery children will know each other already but she won’t know anyone if she stays at her current nursery.

What would you do? My heart says leave her where she’s happy, my head says move her closer as it makes more logistical sense, and my anxiety says will she be an outsider if we leave her at a nursery where she’s unlikely to meet kids she will eventually go to school with? Argh!

Netmums is that way ➡️

Leave her where she is.

I'd move her
It makes more sense to use the nursery nearer your home

I'd move her

Netmums? Confused

Go and see the nursery again with a fresh pair of eyes.
If it's ok I'd be inclined to move her.
At 17 months she'll hardly even remember her old nursery or the children that were there once she's been at the new nursery a few months.
