Hi all,

My little boy is nearly 18 months and I am looking for a good nursery in the Walthamstow / Leyton area.

So far have seen Magic Roundabout in Wadham Rd which I really liked and wondered if anyone had first hand experience.

Saw Alert Kids in Leyton which did not give a good impression at all and one on Hainault rd whose name escapes me but which i didnt like that much either.

Any advice or experiences.

My 18 month old is at Just Learning at Whipps Cross and we have been really pleased with it. The carers are all lovely and he settled in really well despite quite a faultering start.

Can i ask about the faltering start, altho i suppose the fact that he is settled now is more important. When i called they didnt have a place - I wanted two consectutive full days. will defo put it on my list to look at as not sending him so much for childcare as to get him playing with other children and enjoying messy play and stuff so could settle for one day really.

Hi there. Sorry I haven't checked back sooner. Initially when our son started it was the first time he had been away from me so the settling in was a bit tricky. We ended up with my DH dropping him off which worked a lot better as he was more used to him leaving. Yes I had him at Whipps. I had quite a good experience generally but as I had pre-eclampsia at the final stages of my pregnancy (i.e. after I had gone into labour) I was in the high dependancy unit.

Hope all that helps!!
