How often does an outstanding nursery get inspected?

Looking at different nurseries for DD one was rated outstanding by Ofsted but this was in 2012. Does anyone know what the maximum gap between inspections is?

Ideally it should be very 3 years but in practice there are so many and budgets are stretched, What it does tell you is that there haven't been any complaints to Ofsted. Im guessing they will have one soon as 6 years is rare.

Inspection cycles. All providers on the Early Years Register which were registered before the start of Ofsted's 4 year inspection cycle are inspected within the cycle. The previous inspection cycle ran from 1 September 2012 to 31 July 2016. The current inspection cycle runs from 1 August 2016 to 31 July 2020.

So if they were inspected after 1st sep 2012 it could be as late as July 2020

Unhelpful, but this is one of those "how long is a piece of string" situations..

It's not unknown for Ofsted to miss their own inspection cycle deadlines.

OTOH, my experience is that, despite what Ofsted say, an Outstanding grade doesn't necessarily mean you'll be inspected later rather than sooner.

I would check if the nursery manager is the same. Would make huge difference.
