Tax free childcare help!!

Hi, was wondering if someone could share their experiences of paying into & using the tax free child care! I have set up an account and have my childs account details, but from there i am slightly baffled! 😂 child care fees are 106 a week - i thought i would need to put in 84.80 & they would then add enough to top it up to 106, but this was wishful thinking! Whats people experience of it or how do people use it to make it work for them? Also - once the top up is added, do we transfer to the nursery account ourselves or does it automatically happen? Thanks for any help 🙏

I pay in 80% of the overall invoice, it then tops up the 20% by the next working day. Then I transfer to my childminder’s account

I think for every 8 they add on 2 - someone probably already said.
You need to set up automatic payments for your childcare provider as well.

wizzywig- I believe the nursery has to give you a code to find them on the system

nannynick · 25/01/2019 00:07

@wizzywig It really should accept your registered nanny. I am a nanny paid via Tax-Free Childcare.
When adding them as a provider you have to enter their Ofsted Reg and their postcode with only one space between them.
Example: EY123456 GU143AA

nannynick yes i found out about the postcode bit on the day you posted. Thank you. Sorry op i didnt mean to hijack your thread
