Can my childcare vouchers expire?

I've been collecting childcare vouchers through work since September/ October last year. As our families have been helping with looking after my DD whilst my DH and I are both working, I've not had to use them yet.

However I read that some childcare providers don't accept ones over a year old. Is that true? Does that apply to most nurseries? I'm a bit worried I'm going to lose them...

It’s not the childcare providers, I personally wouldn’t know when they were claimed, but the voucher companies themselves might have an expiry date for them.

We accumulated a lot over several years with DC1, and not had any problems using them down the line

Think my DH has Care4 and I have Edenred, no problems with those to my knowledge

Prob worth checking with your voucher company

Oh thank you. Mine are with Computershare. I'll check this.

Mine expired one year from issue. Mine were provided by Sodexo.

@roses2 did you contact them to see if you could get them back? I feel like it wasn't clear when I signed up about any expiry.

I would contact them. It seems a bit cheeky. For us it has been a part of balancing costs now that we have DC2, using the vouchers we accumulated since DC1

I didn't contact them as I managed to use my vouchers before they expired. Sorry I wasn't very clear there!
