30 free hours?

Hi,

We are a little way off yet but I'm trying to forward plan.

My DD's nursery offers 30 free hours when they turn 3. However, starts the term after they turn 3.

My DD's birthday will fall in the Easter Holidays. Which makes me wonder will her hours kick in that Summer term or will we have to wait until September. Has anyone else had this issue?

It depends on the nursery and official term dates/cutoffs. My DD was born 1/1, the cut off was 31/12 for the spring term. The nursery however were happy to take her from the beginning of spring term rather then wait until summer term. Best to speak to the provider you have in mind however if it's a way off it all could change.

31/12 was the end of the autumn term.

Should be the summer term (April to July) as it's the term after they are 3 but do check with the nursery as each provider may vary slightly on how they offer the hours.

Think the cut off date is early April, for summer term funding.

Ie. Needs to turn 3 by 31st March to qualify for Summer term. Between April 1st and August 31st for Autumn term.

The cut off date will be 31/3 so depends when your little ones bday is.

It's not the holidays which are relevant, it's the date as set out above - as everyone has different hols. My DC have birthdays which usually fall at the end of the Easter hols - early April, so missed the 31 March cut off date & had to wait until September.

insancerre · 29/09/2018 09:17

The cut off dates are the last day in december, March and August

Holidayshopping · 29/09/2018 09:18

What date is her birthday?

Fatted · 29/09/2018 09:23

I have a March child and he was entitled to the hours from April. He was then entitled to the full year from the September. My other is a May baby and had to wait until the September.

onewayoflife · 29/09/2018 10:05

If her birthday is in the Easter holidays then she will only get funding from September unfortunately

RachelRosie · 30/09/2018 20:15

Oh pickle. Her birthday is early April, so will have to wait. At least I know now so can plan it in to our budget. Thank you everyone for your help :)
