I’m about to start full time work and put my son into nursery. We don’t have to do it but I thought it would do him good and he would enjoy it!
Today was the first day settling in and I had to walk away hearing him cry! When I picked him up they said he cried the whole half hour and when he saw me he was hysterical.
In the afternoon I decided take him the park but as soon as I grab his stuff he screamed and cling onto me thinking I was taking him back nursery! It’s only day one I know but I’m starting to think why am I doing this when we don’t need to do it? I don’t have to go work full time. We live comfortably me working part time? I dunno what to do how to feel? Do I give it time? But next week I start full time Confused

It can take them a little while to settle but once they trust the staff they only give a token cry when the parent leaves and then enjoy themselves exploring. Half hour is nothing, he is with strangers and won’t be happy. Keep on with the settling sessions and he’ll soon realise that he can trust his key person :).
