Tax Free Childcare - when can i apply?

I currently have an active TFC account for DS1 which I opened as soon as the scheme was launched, and I make full use of the £2k contribution.

DS2 is due in September and I'll be taking 6 months maternity leave. Does anyone know if I can apply for TFC as soon as DS1 is born (and start saving up for when he starts nursery), or do I need to wait until I return to work and he is 6 months old?

If it makes any difference, I will be earning more than the £120 per week threshold for the duration of my leave due to company maternity pay, bonus, and the keeping in touch days I will be working.

I believe you can do it from birth as you meet the earning threshold.
