Teddies Nurseries - Bupa

Hi all, our 2 DS's attend a local Teddies nursery which we have been very happy with however a bombshell was dropped last Thursday when a letter arrived saying that it was no longer financially viable and would be shutting in 2mths. Needless to say all the parents and staff are absolutely gutted about this. Just wondered if anyone else uses Teddies and if this is happening nationally or have we just been unlucky. I still can't believe it

Which one are you at? I know it happened a couple of years ago to a few of their nurseries. They look at how much money is being made by it etc. They then sell off the ones that make the least money. Sorry it's not nice when it happens, hard on everyone, are they selling it to another company?

Thanks Willows77, I know this happened to the one in Cheltenham a couple of years ago but that was taken over, ours is in Gloucester and there has been no mention of a buy out, conveniently the MD has gone on holiday and won't be back for 2wks The parents are having a meeting tomorrow afternoon and have invited the local press to attend, I also gave it a mention on our local radio this morning I've turned into an activist!!
