Nursery Review in Hale, Altrincham

We are trying to get our son (22 months) into a nursery, and spaces are extremely limited in the area. We did not start earlier and now have a clear disadvantage. To make a choice, can any one provide feedback on Elmscot and Kids Planet nurseries in the area. They are the only ones with outstanding rating from Ofsted. Others have a good rating. We would like to go for a better rated nursery. Also are trying to get into Oakfield nursery school but it is again challenging. We have recently moved to the area and did not know how early some of the people register their children as we constantly come across EDD on forms instead of DOB.

I would like to thank in advance for your time.

Regards

Hi
My DS is at Woodlands in Timperley (part of the elmscot group) I cant speak highly enough of it......he has come on so much in the time that he has been there, the staff are amazing and the setting is lovely, it is just the most lovely nursery

I moved to the area and couldn't get a place for my older children so knew how sought after places were when I had my youngest child and was lucky enough to get a place at Oakfield. It was wonderful. I can honestly say I never had a second's doubt about the care my DC received, never had any angst, it was brilliant. Places do become available, it's worth keeping your name on the waiting list.

Elmscot is a big group now with several local nurseries and lots of after school / holiday clubs. I did also look at Woodlands but if I recall (it may have changed) the older children were in the attic which felt a bit claustrophic.

To answer your point, Yes, I put my name down straight after my 12 week scan Shock

Namechangedtoday15 that's not woodlands, there isn't an attic - it's a purpose built nursery ..... elmscot is an old house so could have been there......

Sorry my mistake - the one opposite Timperley Sports Club. Yes, is that just called Elmscot?
Woodlands is the one near Barkets Florist? My neighbours children went there and rated it.

Thank you for the information you have provided. Unfortunately, there are no spaces available in Oakfield in our DS age group. We are on the reserve list thought!

The Elmscot nurseries have no places till September. I want our DS to start ASAP as he is ready to be in an independent setting however, we are limited in our choice and finding it really hard to get him a space in a decent nursery in the surrounding area.

Joys of moving into a new area!! Any suggestions or recommendations will be much appreciated!

Regards

That's a shame about Elmscot. We had kids unlimited on our short list (based in Timperley) there is a new nursery opening on Manchester Road shortly - can't think what it's called ....busy bees are also meant to be good ....

Thank You. Please let me know if you remember the one opening up. We went to see Kids Planet today....just did not feel it was right though it has outstanding ofted rating. Also, saw the Bowdon Pre-school which looked quite good and the staff was excellent to interact with. Has anyone got feedback on Bowdon Preschool?

Thanks

May be a little bit out your way, but I would recommend Clever Clowns Day Nursery.

They are absolutely fantastic, they have 2 nurseries, one smaller one in Gatley and then a larger one in Newall Green.

It's really lovely and homely, Sharon the manager and all the staff are brilliant, I wouldn't trust anyone else with my children. My 3 have all been there from 9 months and I can't sing their praises enough.

Also, I don't mean to sound rude as I'm
sure you won't, but don't judge it by the area! I did at first because we don't live around there (I worked at the hospital at the time),but it really is lovely inside. You can just ring them, they take abit of info and they tell you to just turn up whenever with ID, they don't make you make an appointment with them to visit which I liked because it didn't feel at all staged, you just got to go and see it how it actually was.
My youngest left last year but SIL has just sent her little boy and it's all still the same, she also thinks it's the best place ever!!
