Hi

We're moving to Kingston Upon Thames in a couple of months and wondered if anyone can recommend a nursery or great childminder. I have two boys aged 9month and 3years.

Many thanks

Hi, have only just noticed this message, have you found anywhere already or are you still looking?

The Children's Information Service can provide you with a list of all the different childcare providers in the area, including childminders with spaces. Call 020 8547 6582 or email at [email protected]

We used to have a wonderful childminder in Cross Road but she's moved out now. She recommends Gillian Beau-Wright in Kings Rd, who works with another childminder so it's almost a little nursery. I've also heard Katey Barrington is good, but she was full when I was looking for spaces for my two. We've used Tracey Clout before and she's very nice although probably better with babies and toddlers than older kids. (A friend of mine found Tracey couldn't really deal with her rather boisterous 2 1/2 yr old boy).

If you don't need full-time care my ds2 (3yo) is at Tudor Hall Pre-School which is really good, lots of older, experienced carers and a really good curriculum.

Hi

Yes - still to make the decision so many thanks for this - I will investigatge Gillian.

Spent the day looking at nurseries yesterday and still don't feel completely comfortable with that idea - probably just nerves of moving them!

Many thanks again

I live in Kingston with a 3 year old boy and 9 month girl. Very similar to you I don't know if this is helpful if you want them in the same place but my son goes to the most brilliant Montesorri nurery. I can't recommend it highly enough but they are only taken from two. It is the Kingston Vale Montesorri - don't confuse it with the one in Kingston which isn't as good. They do mornings 9.30-12.30. Probably not helpful to you but it is just so good I thought I must let you know about it. Doesn't help with your baby but will let you know if I have any other thoughts
