Hi looking for some advice my 3 year old started pre school on the 2nd week now he does 2 half days and 2 full but he seems to really not like it.
He cries when we arrive then cries again when I pick him up they say he's fine when I'm
Not there but it makes me worry all day I feel awful about how he's feeling or if he's upset

Should I continue or reduce hours? Is it because it's just all new to him really don't know what to do for the best

Thanks everyone

My 3yo started last September (he turned 3 a few weeks beforehand). The first 2 weeks were hard and he cried every morning. Then he just settled in and began to love it.

A bit of a regression going back after Christmas but nothing major. I would stick it out for the time being if I were you. Maybe consider just mornings, unless you need the childcare on the full days.

Sounds like hes just not great at dealing with change and doesnt want to stop what hes doing, whether thats being with you or being at pre-school. Once he gets used to the idea that it doesnt mean "never seeing you/playing at school again" he'll probably settle in.
