DD will be 7 months once she starts nursery 3 days a week in July when I have to go back to work. The nursery is very new and overseen by someone I absolutely trust. I've been for a couple of visits and like all the staff I've met. They have a dark separate sleep room and DD would have her own cot there. So, all good. BUT as everyone is, I am dreading leaving her and keep hearing people say that she's too young to be in nursery. I'd love to hear from other MNetters with LOs in nursery at this age.

Ok, so we're off... In third week of settling in and Auntyspan you are so right. I've been dropping her off, grinning manically, waving and being cheerful, and then running home to wail and weep. I THINK she is ok but it is just SO hard and I feel SO guilty. Welcome to the world of a working mum I guess.. Might start entering the lottery this week.

Don't worry about it. When dd started at 11 months she cried for 5 minutes everytime I left her there. It was so hard to leave her.

2 months later she walked into nursery herself and I felt absolutely gutted she didn't seem to need me anymore.

However they react to being at nursery its always hard leaving them. Now a month later, we seem to have the right balance

Thanks Wriggle. Yes, it is getting easier! Monday seems to be a really bad day as i think she forgets where she is again and the routine changes but yesterday she managed a couple of long naps there and apparently hasn't been upset at all. She gazed adoringly at her keyworker as we left yesterday.... hmmm.
