How do childcare vouchers work?

I'm going back to work soon 4 days a week and DD will be in nursery 3 days a week (with grandparents 1 day). I am planning to apply for childcare vouchers through work and can see the maximum I can claim is 243 per month. Nursery fees are around 600 per month. Just a bit clueless as to how it all works? Do the childcare voucher company send me vouchers and then I give them to nursery? How? Or do they go directly to nursery and then I'll be billed for the remainder? Help!!! Confused

It's all electronic. You apply via whichever provider your employer use (online) then once registered £243 will come out of your pay and be credited to your online account. You then set up a standing order to your nursery (you will need a code from them to do this). They will then bill you for the rest.
