Lead time for nursery registration?

Hi all, we live overseas but will be returning in just over a year in January 2019. DD will be 2y2m and I am wondering how far in advance I need to start thinking about nursery registration? In south London. Should I be looking already or in 6 months? Thanks!

We registered DD at 8 weeks to start at 12 months as the nursery was getting booked up.

And that's south east England but not in London

Lots of nurseries will fill most of their spaces in September when the next cohort of children leave for school. You'll need to contact them and ask about waiting lists fairly soon.

That's not to say that you won't find anything when you arrive, but it might be worth looking asap.

Thanks all!
