Nursery bag too costly

Recently my son started nursery at school setting and the Teacher tells me to get nursery bag with the tag. We got a regular cartoon bag for him which he likes. I checked online and delivery charges for a 6 pounds bag is around 23.45 for next day delivery and reasonable which is 3.45 for 14 days delivery. I know the Teacher won't wait this long and might like me again during the next session .But really are school bags with tags are of that importance at nursery .Really ? Thoughts please

You do t have any obligation to get the bag at all. Sounds like a colossal waste of money - with or without the delivery charge

JigglyTuff · 07/09/2017 23:50

dont

Ttbb · 07/09/2017 23:57

Can't you get these from supermarkets these days?

Parker231 · 07/09/2017 23:59

Why do you need a specific nursery bag?

Betsy86 · 08/09/2017 00:01

Grab one from a supermarket they normally get reduced now kids are back to school. Most have a space to write a name if not just sharpie it on Along with any items you put in the bag. That's all I would do that delivery charge is crazy don't pay it xx

I'd either get a generic bag from the supermarket or wait the 14 days for the cheap delivery. The next day delivery price is ludicrous.

If the school want parents to buy specific bags, then they really should tell parents this well in advance of the term starting.

I work at a nursery and we dont have specific bags! I havent been in a nursery that does have a 'uniform' bag Confused i'd stick to the one you have and just let the teacher know that he wont be having a logoed one, i dont see the issue. Provided everything fits and it's labelled with his name it seems a bit silly to replace it!

Well my son goes to academy and I think they decide there own rules so I have ordered the school bag but with less postage to pay .It's compulsory

Our nursery give all the children a free drawstring bag when they join. If it breaks you can buy another for about a fiver!

welshweasel · 17/09/2017 19:48

We get free drawstring bags too (and they replace them for free). You can get them for about a quid. Just pick a cheap one up in the supermarket.
