Can you pay for extra hours at School Nursery?

Basically Ds starts Local Catholic School Nursery in September. Im a full time Uni student and DP works full time so we are only eligible for 15 hours EYF funding. However the nursery hes going to will offer the 30 free hours, so rather than me pay a childminder to cover the afternoons, would it be reasonable for me to enquire about paying for him to stay there until 3 pm and then i could collect him?
Or will this not work because it isnt a private nursery or school.

I don't think anybody other than the nursery can answer that question. Just call them and ask? Every nursery works differently.

Some nurseries run wrap around others don't. Look on their website, if it isn't mentioned, I would suspect not.

Yes, depends on the nursery. DS is going to an LA nursery in September, using the 15 free hours but we are paying for 8-5 wraparound care.
