Tax free childcare

Has anyone used the new government scheme where you pay into an account and they top it up to help towards childcare costs? I'm in the process of trying to set it up and wondered if anyone had started using it yet and how they found it?

I have started using it, once you put money in the government puts the 20% in straight away. It is very simple and easy to use.

I've used it for one monthly payment so far. The first payment took a while to actually work, I tried it about 5 times over a few days before it finally went out!

When I put the payment in, it took a few days to clear but when it had cleared the government had put the 20% in instantly like BumWad says.

I just had to let my nursery know our new reference number but they should all be aware of the way it works now! I'll definitely continue to use it though, it's just a bit of a mission logging in Grin

If anyone is able to screenshot the option to pay HMRC, I would much appreciate seeing evidence that such an option exists.

Right, I've tried 17 times now to register for this (I know because they text me an access code each time). The website always crashes due to "technical difficulties". I've tried different days, different times of day - always crashes. Am I the only one having such a hard time with this?

Can someone give me a link? My dp needs to start doing this as he's self employed so no childcare vouchers. Last time I checked it hasn't started yet so it must be fairly new?

I think it started last month. I registered months ago to receive an email when it was up and running but heard nothing Hmm
Will look for a link now...

Has anyone had any luck logging in to this recently? I registered fine, set up a standing order fine, transferred some money in no probs... now its been a week and i can't log on and pay my nursery!! there's over £1000 in there i can't get to :(
