Hi all.
Our nursery hires out the main hall (which connects all rooms) for children's parties. Does anyone know if there are any rules about doing this during standard nursery hours? I'm not allowed to take someone in with me to pick up kids unless their name is down on the authorised sheet and they rightly need to provide passwords etc. to enter but in their money grabbing they can bring in whoever!! I'd really appreciate any advice on this.

Ofsted would not like this
Is this done during opening hours?

The nursery would have to prove they had risk assessed this and show how they will minimise the risks identified
I do understand that many nurseries are struggling financially and are looking at ways of raising revenue BUT how can they monitor who is on their premises and therefore safeguard the children adequately?
I would be tempted to ring ofsted and speak to them, see what they say online.ofsted.gov.uk/OnlineOfsted/public/ContactUs.aspx

Why don't you ask the nursery what their policy is? Your quite entitled to ask, and follow up any concerns it might raise.
