I am thinking of getting rid of the useless commitee who say they run my nursery (but actually I do all the blood sweat and tears) and taking on the buisness myself but I know I will have to go through the gruelling OFSTED interview. Any advice or expriences with this?

Policies, policies, policies.

If you've got these in place and can explain them, that's a good start.

You'll also need to be up to speed on Birth to Three (if that's your age group) and Foundation Stage. The inspector will want to talk about planning and observations, recruitment/vetting procedures, Child Protection and SEN.

HTH.

Fab. Are they as bad as i have heard? What sort of things to they ask? Is it general standards and things like that? I know I'm probably sounding really dumb but I really have no clue!

Read and know The National Standards.

You can order extra copies from OFSTED online.

How will you get rid of the Committee? Wouldn't they have to vote to wind-up the charity (if that's how it's set up)...

I had my interview (new chair) a few weeks ago.Basically you need to beable to talk policies as someone else mentioned. The national standards is the bible. The first question she asked was,"what would you do if a member of staff turned up for work drunk?" LOL

I was told we needed a get a policy to explain how we deal with new policies ....ffs!

Haven't done that yet!
