Christmas gift for nursery staff

There was a thread last week on AIBU about tipping and it got me thinking about what I should be giving as a Christmas gift to ds's nursery staff. They are all wonderful and I was planning to give a gift and write a message in a Christmas card to let them know how much they are appreciated. I'm short of ideas for anything other than edibles though. Would some naice chocolates or a selection of mince pies and cake be well received, or will the staff already have been given more rich food at this time of year than is actually welcome?

I usually make a box of cupcakes for the nursery teachers, and a box for the office staff/head/janitor. Same with school. I used to worry it would be too much, but now they actively ask if I'm baking so I'm guessing they're ok with it?

I've made some fudge for playgroup staff. There are loads of staff so they can all share it

There is no obligation to buy them anything. We keep all our boxes of sweets etc then raffle them off to staff so everyone gets to take something home.

Most of my nurseries have done chocolate raffles too. If they go into the staff room there's usually one greedy cow hungry person who eats most of them.

But anything is welcome. It's nice to be though of.

Thanks all. I might bake something and get ds to 'help' decorate - which would help him to think/learn about giving (rather than just receiving!)

Just a thought..Blush
I work in a Pre School not a Nursery/DayCare.. there are 4 staff.
I am Diabetic.. so as lovely as all the chocolates, cakes, biscuits, Im given are, and please don't think Im being ungrateful,
any recognition is nice..
but I give them to my collegues or my family eat them.
As a keyworker, Id rather a picture or card from your little one, which is just as nice Smile

Thank you Red, worth bearing in mind, I will find out if anyone is diabetic!
