Do I query this or just suck it up??

Just found out last week that dd's nursery is closed on 22nd & 23rd Dec. (should have known a couple of weeks earlier but misread newsletter)
This was unexpected to me because I have been using the nursery since Jan 2012 & they have always stayed open until Christmas eve (+/- weekends).
Literature always advertises open 51 weeks a year & now they are closed in week 52 as usual but also 40% of week 51.
I don't know if it's relevant but fees went up 7.5% in January this year - now for a reduced service.
Would you say something? It's 960 per month so £45 ish per day.

So are you expected to pay for those two closed days? As well as the week it is closed for Christmas?

Yes no mention of a fee reduction of any sort

I assume they are normally closed on Bank Holidays?

If they are closed 22/23 Dec and 28/29/30 Dec, then that is only 5 working days. I can see why they believe they are only closed for a week especially as 2016 was a leap year, so has an extra day to a normal year.

I see where you are coming from but it's never 5 working days because it always includes at least 1 bank holiday.

So it is normally shut for 4 working days. This year it will be 5 working days. But as 2016 is a leap year you got and extra day of childcare somewhere along the line. I think you just have to suck it up.

surely it's just because Xmas day and new years day fall on a Sunday so they are taking these days in lieu??
